25 years have passed since Dire Straits disbanded and we last heard that unmistakable sound of Mark Knopfler’s guitar…
Close your eyes and get transported back to an original Dire Straits gig. Beautiful inspiring tracks, quality sound, amazing atmosphere, spine tingling riffs, vocals, instrumentals and an outstanding performance.
After selling over 25,000 tickets in Israel within the past three years, and in light of the high demand for yet another show, The Dire Straits Experience are coming to Tel Aviv for only one night. A single performance on the 14th of September at the Menora Mivtachim Arena.
The Dire Straits Experience was founded by saxophonist Chris White after their successful debut playing for a charity event at the Royal Albert Hall where members of the legendary band got back together on stage. News travelled fast, and an increasing global demand to hear the most dramatic songs in rock history played live eventually led to a worldwide tour.
Chris White, who recorded and performed with the rock legends for over a decade, joined Dire Straits for their record breaking “Brothers in Arms” world tour in 1985. This included their famous performance at Live Aid and later the renowned Nelson Mandela 70th birthday concert. White has played with some of the greatest rock stars the world has known, such as Paul Mccartney, Joe Cocker, Mick Jagger, Robbie Williams and many others. Joining Chris White is a stellar band consisting of some of the finest professional musicians the UK has to offer.
“When I was first approached to put together a band to play Dire Straits songs, I didn’t believe it would be possible to find someone who would be able to stand in Mark’s shoes without sounding like an imposter. I was wrong. In Terence Reis, I think we may have found the only person on the planet that is able to play and sing like Mark but maintain his own integrity and identity.”
